TRUST, SAFETY AND DATA

Carefully governed AI for an educational purpose.

Byron Supercurriculum is designed around clear human authority, age-appropriate use, protected learner information, transparent criteria and firm boundaries on what AI should decide.

NON-NEGOTIABLE

AI supports learning. It does not replace teachers, parents or professional safeguarding processes.

Human authority

Teachers and authorised school staff retain professional judgement, approval and intervention responsibility.

Data minimisation

Learner information is limited to defined educational purposes, protected and visible only through role-appropriate permissions.

Explainable decisions

Recommendations, activity purposes, criteria and progress evidence should be understandable to learners, teachers and schools.

Academic integrity

The AI Tutor guides thinking before revealing answers and does not complete assessed work dishonestly.

Safeguarding boundaries

The platform supports school procedures; it does not replace safeguarding, clinical or emergency judgement.

SAFEGUARDING

School
procedures
remain
in control.

Byron Supercurriculum must follow the school's age, role, content and escalation settings. It does not diagnose a learner, assess safeguarding risk, provide clinical advice or replace an authorised adult decision.

  • Age-appropriate prompts, content and communication
  • Clear reporting and escalation routes
  • Teacher visibility and override
  • Restricted role-based access
  • Recorded changes and reviewable decisions
PRIVACY

Use the
minimum
information
needed
for learning.

Learner data should be collected for clear educational purposes: selecting a starting point, adapting support, recording evidence and reporting progress. The platform should not infer sensitive personal characteristics from behaviour, voice, photos, response time or usage patterns.

Students, teachers, parents and administrators receive different views. Each view is limited to the information required for that role and the permissions set by the school.

DATA PROTECTION

Protected,
permissioned
and
accountable.

  • Role-based permissions prevent access to unrelated learner data
  • School administrators manage users, classes and visibility
  • Changes to content and configuration remain reviewable
  • Learner information is not used outside defined educational purposes
  • Parent views avoid unnecessary technical or private school data
TERMS OF USE

Learning support—not a
guarantee or a substitute.

Byron Supercurriculum does not guarantee an examination grade, university place, admission decision, career outcome or fixed judgement about a learner. It does not replace a school’s formal curriculum, qualified teaching, assessment decisions, SEND processes, safeguarding duties or family responsibility.
